The Louisiana Department of Health on Saturday reported two additional deaths related to Hurricane Laura, bringing the total number of storm deaths in the state to 25.

A 52-year-old man from Grant Parish died of a heat-related illness while removing debris from the storm and a 25-year-old man in Natchitoches Parish died by electrocution after coming into direct contact with a power line, authorities said.
The National Hurricane Center has forecasted “unsurvivable storm surge” from Hurricane #Laura in parts of Louisiana and Texas. Do NOT underestimate this storm.

The Category 4 storm hit southwestern Louisiana on August 27. Five deaths in Texas were also attributed to the storm.
Hurricane Laura also killed nearly two dozen people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in route to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
