The event will be broadcast live by Telemundo from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. During the ceremony he will be awarded the Spirit of Hope Award for his philanthropic work at the head of his foundation The Art of Dreams, created together with his family, since 2016.
The entity supports those young people who, despite being going through difficult situations, struggle to get ahead.
Through singing, dance and percussion, the organization aims to generate alternatives of life and tools so that its members can face any challenge in the future.
In just 8 years, Maluma has conquered half the world.
The Spirit of Hope award was created by Billboard magazine in honor of the remembered Texan singer Selena Quintanilla, in recognition of those stars who, beyond their professional achievements, have dedicated their time and effort to achieving change in their communities.
Over two decades Maluma has been greeted by Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Emmanuel, Willy Chirino, Juanes, Daddy Yankee, Olga Tañón, Maná, Los Tigres del Norte, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricardo Montaner, Carlos Vives, Carlos Santana, Luis Fonsi, El General and Soraya.
There is no doubt that the Hawaiian performer, Felice los 4, Chantaje y Borró cassette – a finalist this year in the categories of Tropical Song and Latin Rhythm Artist, Soloist – continues to go through a good run.
Aside from their performance with Jennifer Lopez on Marry Me, in which they both collaborate on the soundtrack, their Hawaiian track has just reached number one on Billboard’s new global chart, Global Excl. US, released last Monday, September 14.
Among his records stands out having had 39 tracks on the Hot Latin Songs charts, in just five years of experience.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards 2020 coincides with Music Week, a virtual activity that will run from October 20 to 23 in a greeting to the 30th anniversary of the publication.
The event includes panels with music industry experts and exclusive performances.
